Isabella “Izzi” D’Esposito is a New York based playwright, composer and lyricist. Her work has been produced or developed at the Seven Devils Playwrights Conference, Ars Nova, Arts Tristate, Carnegie Mellon University, Horizon Theater, Boise Contemporary Theater and more. She’s been an apprentice with New York Stage and Film, a resident at the Stony Brook International Theater Festival, a 2016 TEDxBroadway Young Professional and was recently a writing fellow at Playwrights Realm with her play Albert County Public Library System; Lakeside Branch, which is about a library but she mostly writes about outer space and how the internet affects how we express ourselves! Isabella received her MFA in Dramatic Writing at Carnegie Mellon University, studying under Rob Handel, and a degree in Playwriting and Screenwriting from Purchase College, studying under Christina Anderson and Sylvan Oswald.
Something I’m super proud of: When I was in undergrad at Purchase College, I used to run this website, The Freshman Flock . I was trying to figure out how to bring all the cool people in my life together under one writing banner, or make a zine, or make a tiny movement and I did it! It didn’t last forever but it was really great while it lasted.
